Jose in the Country Iron Chef Jose Garces spends most of the week in the modern loft in Philadelphia, overseeing his empire of 18 restaurants. But come Friday, he as well as his wife, Beatriz, as well as kids Olivia, 11, as well as Andres, 7, escape to this 1850 farmhouse upon 40 acres in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. "I wanted the real environmental contrast," he says. He hired designer Gretchen Kubiak to get the house move-in ready as well as gave her entrance to the undoubted goldmine: the warehouse full of furniture which he has collected over the years to outfit his restaurants.
